The 2024 Tennessee Rally USA, held from June 14 to 16 in Chattanooga and Polk County, Tennessee delivered an exhilarating showcase of rallying prowess on the challenging gravel roads of the Cherokee National Forest. The Chattanooga hometown hero Michael Hooper, with co-driver Claudia Pullen, secured a remarkable victory in their Lexus IS 350, completing the event in 1:37:22.6.
The rally featured eight stages, 79 stage miles total, with the rally campus headquarters based in Benton, Tennessee. Despite the demanding course, Hooper and Pullen navigated the terrain skillfully to secure their win.
Finishing in second place, the duo of Corey McKenzie and Jason Smith navigated their Nissan Sentra SE-R to a commendable time of 1:39:46.9, trailing the leaders by just over two minutes. Reflecting on their performance, Corey McKenzie shared, "We weren't even done with the last stage of the day when Jason told me we would finish in second. So, we took our time and soaked in the moment."
Securing the third spot on the podium, Casen Pedersen and co-driver Kyle "KJ" Miller piloted their Lexus IS 250 through the demanding stages, showcasing impressive skill and determination.
This successful training event not only highlighted the talents of local drivers but also underscored Chattanooga and the southeast Tennessee regions potential as a premier rally destination, contributing to the growing motorsport heritage in the region.
